The bad new is that a typical working day may not finish until quite late, but the good news is that all the restaurants and shops are open later still so you will still have plenty of time to meet your friends or go shopping. Some workplaces observe the Spanish siesta while tourist related businesses generally do not, so it really depends on where you choose to work as to what the working hours will be.
