Manorisms are different the world over, in some countries a nod can mean no and a no can mean yes! So what do you do?

To the newcomer Brit in Spain it can all seem very abrupt and loud, you can look out the window and think a full scale riot is going on but it turns out that its a couple of guys saying goodnight to each other.

In a supermarket in Spain the cashier will throw your change down and give you a filthy look, is it something you have done or does she simply not like the Brits? - Not at all, she's like that with everyone and its quite acceptable.

Once you get past the "it costs nothing to smile thing", afterall we are British! you will see that the Spanish people are so genuine it's just their way, so don't rebell just join in, remember we are the foreigners here and should respect the Spanish traditions.
